Jack Terrell from the National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC) just emailed us their news release on the OHV Association Development Workshop scheduled for May 31, 2008, in Cookeville, Tennessee. The dates, times and place are posted below, so mark your calendar and plan to attend.
The purpose of the workshop is to bring together the leadership of Tennessee’s motorized recreation interests, including off-highway motorcycle, ATV, four-wheel drive interests and motorized recreation businesses. (more…)

Urge to oppose the National Landscape Conservation System Act

We are urging enthusiasts to oppose the National Landscape Conservation System Act.

The House Natural Resources Committee passed H.R. 2016, the National Landscape Conservation System Act, on March 12. Now it is scheduled for a vote in the full House on April 9th. We have asked you to weigh in on this issue several times in the past and you have responded, but unfortunately there is still more work to be done. (more…)

I just returned from New Mexico where I attended the Annual Conference of the National Association of OHV Program Managers held in conjunction with the National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC) Annual Conference. In attendance were representatives from the U. S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management and OHV land managers from various states as well as OHV enthusiasts. (more…)

The Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest (BDNF) Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the Forest Plan Revision was released February 15th for comment. This revision is another example of the Montana Region One Forest Service running out of control and catering to the wishes of those with the deepest pockets. In this case, wilderness advocates have sold out to the timber industry in order to add to the forest’s recommended wilderness area (RWA) inventory. (more…)
