Fire n Ice Liquid Cooled Snowmobile Turbo Kit

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Over the past 7-8 years the snowmobile industries outlook on the Turbo market has really changed. Not that turbos on sleds were a new idea. Many riders before 2000 were using turbos to help increase the power of the stock snowmobile to King of the Hill. Shortly after 2001 with the introduction of the Yamaha RX1 the Turbo market really boosted. The amount of power that was being tapped from the 4-stroke snowmobiles with turbos was reaching the 400 horsepower range. It wasn’t long before they broke the 400hp with Yamaha Propane Turbos getting 420hp with about 26lbs of boost. (more…)

ELEVATION 3 Snowmobile Video

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Its that time of the year again as we all try to find some way to feed the urge of getting on the sled and tearing up the snow. Some of us think if we can see others having fun on the snow it will lessen our desire to do so. So we pull out the old 2 Stroke Cold Smoke, with the 1995 XLT as the king of the hill. We then realize that the sled we have sitting on the trailer outside is 10 years newer and so maybe its time to upgrade the snowmobile video collection. Which one do you buy though? There are so many companies making snowmobile videos these days that it would cost more than your sled to buy them all every year. So which one do you choose?

The last thing you want when your riding your snowmobile through fresh powder is for you goggles to fog up. This creates a potential hazard, as it becomes harder and harder to see oncoming obsticals. Its the first thing to get you frustrated and make what could have been an excellent day of riding to a crappy day. Scott has introduced a goggle that could change that day back into a perfect day of fun in the sun on a sled.

The Klim Adrenaline Boot, Quite Possibly the Best Snowmobile Boot Made

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006
Adrenaline boot2007.jpg

Klim is at it again. They just can’t leave “good enough” alone, they have to do better. One of the biggest problems in the snowmobile industry is to find a boot that is both waterproof and one that can breath. It is rare to find one that will do both well. To often the boot is either waterproof, which then causes you to sweat which almost counters the waterproof quality. If that isn’t the problem is the other way where it isn’t water proof and your foot almost freezes off. Klim says they have the answer.

The Perfect Solution to Extra Gas for Snowmobiles…a Bungeeless Snowmobile Gas Rack!

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

ourstuff_trackrack_pic3_lg.jpg
We’ve all been there. Beautiful sunny day, 2 feet of powder, just you, your buddies, your snowmobile and the mountains. A day you could die for. Only problem is how are you going to enjoy the full day. You know your sled will only get 2 miles to the gallon if your lucky on a day like that. So what do you do? Find the guy whose sled has the biggest gas rack and pack him full of extra fuel. Find the next guy and do the same. Until you run out of bungees, gas cans and gas racks. Down side is it took you 45 mins just to attach the extra gas cans, you aren’t sure they will even stay on the sleds with as loose as the bungees are. If that isn’t the worst part you have to stop every 20 mins just to re-attach the cans that have fallen off. A headache you don’t want to deal with, but if you don’t your greatest snow day is cut short. So what’s the Solution?
