2010 Snowmobiles Released…get a sneak peek

All four snowmobile manufacturers have released their new 2010 snowmobile models. Each mfg is boasting weight savings, improved suspensions and over all handling and comfort. One new release is Polaris’ new Rush model sporting a new out-of-the-ordinary rear supension. A couple of the manufacturer’s have really focused on their freestyle models that were introduced last year. Polaris and Arctic Cat have improved their suspensions, tracks and graphics among other things.

Alot of people are looking at each model, how close each manufacturer’s new models are and are wondering…which one do I go with? This is your chance, compare side by side and most importantly…put the snowmobiles side by side.

The Manufacturers’ Sneak Peak is coming to Sandy, Utah in just a few days. Sandy, Utah is just south of Salt Lake City, Utah. On March 23, enjoy comparing the new snowmobiles, new clothing and see all those awesome snowmobile friends we get to chat with every year. Everyone knows that Utah is home of the “Greatest Snow on Earth”. This year is no exception, keep your eye on the weather and if the weather has cooperated, you woudl be in for some great riding. Avalanche Awareness Event 3.0

Great news, the 3rd annual Avalanche Awareness Ride and Auction are scheduled for February 7, 2009. Visit the Avalanche Awareness Website to sign up, donate to the Utah Avalanche Center and learn more about the event. We’ll ride and meet in the morning. Afterwards, we’ll have dinner at the Edge Motorsports. Dinner is provided, but bring your own beer.

Boondockers/Thunderstruck Brewvies Premier

There are few events out there that bring the enjoyment of Extreme Snowmobiling while giving to the cause of safe riding. If there are any riders that know how important it is to know the backcountry and learn Avalanche Safety it is Team Boondockers and Team Thunderstruck. These two extreme sledding teams have come together to help support the Utah Avalanche Center. On November 13th at Brewvies in Salt Lake City, Utah Boondockers and Thunderstruck will be Premiering their new films. Proceeds will go to the UAC. Come enjoy food, raffle prices, two great films and help increase the knowledge of Avalanche Awareness.

Show Begins at 7:00pm, Come at 6:30pm and get some pizza and mingle with the riders.

Salt Lake City Boondockers Alive Premier

Everyone is invited to the Boondockers Alive Premier being held in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kick-off will be 6:30 Thursday night, October 16th, 2008. The premier is being held at The Edge Motorsports in Draper, Utah. The Edge is located at 14301 Minuteman Drive.

Tickets are $10 dollars a person, not too bad we hope. Mainly, the premier is a fundraising event for the Utah Avalanche Center (UAC). The Edge Motorsports and Boondockers have teamed together to rally support of avalanche and backcountry research. Ticket sales will be donated to the UAC in order to advance avalanche research, awareness and preparedness. (more…)

Fire n Ice Liquid Cooled Snowmobile Turbo Kit

Over the past 7-8 years the snowmobile industries outlook on the Turbo market has really changed. Not that turbos on sleds were a new idea. Many riders before 2000 were using turbos to help increase the power of the stock snowmobile to King of the Hill. Shortly after 2001 with the introduction of the Yamaha RX1 the Turbo market really boosted. The amount of power that was being tapped from the 4-stroke snowmobiles with turbos was reaching the 400 horsepower range. It wasn’t long before they broke the 400hp with Yamaha Propane Turbos getting 420hp with about 26lbs of boost. (more…)

Jack Terrell from the National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC) just emailed us their news release on the OHV Association Development Workshop scheduled for May 31, 2008, in Cookeville, Tennessee. The dates, times and place are posted below, so mark your calendar and plan to attend.
The purpose of the workshop is to bring together the leadership of Tennessee’s motorized recreation interests, including off-highway motorcycle, ATV, four-wheel drive interests and motorized recreation businesses. (more…)
