U4WDA: 2008 EJS Service Project

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Dear Action Alert Subscriber,
Easter Jeep Safari is just around the corner! This year like all other’s there will be folks who will scrutinize every step that the event organizers, participants, and non-participants take. USA-ALL wants to support those local organizations that take measures to ensure that this wonderful event will continue for many years. One such project is being done by our friends at the Utah 4-wheel Drive Association. This is a very worthy project. It will show much good will, environmental ethics, and hopefully bring some good press to our community. We strongly encourage your support of this effort. It really helps drive home the point that off-roaders care about the places we recreate at. We ARE true environmentalists. (more…)

Send an Email to the Committee Chairman and Ranking Member

We alerted you earlier in the week that the House Natural Resources Committee, Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands has scheduled a hearing on the impacts of unmanaged off-highway vehicles on federal lands for March 13, 2008. At that time we asked you to contact the members of the Subcommittee to let them know about your support for OHV access.

Utah Legistlature Winding Down

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Dear Outdoor Enthusiasts, as always the end of the legislative session is bitter sweet for us. We truly enjoy the work we do for all of you on Capitol Hill. But it truly is a lot of stress and work. My wife becomes a legislative widow for about 30 days. I’m excited to spend a little more time at home with the family in the evenings. (more…)

Environmentalists get Public Scrutiny

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

We are sending this again in case you didn’t receive it. The original email and the letter attached and the attachment file size may have caused some of you to not get this important alert.

One important change is the event will be in the Capitol Board Room which is right next to the rotunda (east, under the marble stairs on the second floor), we will have people there to direct you from the rotunda so if nothing else come there. The rotunda is on the 2nd floor of the capitol building and is the large main area underneath the dome.

Dear OutDoor Enthusiast, this Wednesday on March 5th at 12:15 PM in the Capitol Building rotunda there will be a news conference to discuss alleged illegal activities committed by SUWA officers and SUWA’s wilderness proposal for Utah. In conjunction with the news conference there will be a public protest. State legislators have asked specifically to invite all of you and encourage your attendance. Please come if you can. This is your chance to protest SUWA and their harmful attempts to lock up public land in Utah. (more…)

Utah ATV Bill to be Possibly Vetoed by Governor

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Dear Outdoor Enthusiast, this is more urgent than it may appear. There is a very real chance the Governor will veto the ATV street legal bill unless we do something NOW.

Some local counties and municipalities are calling the Governor’s office and encouraging him to veto SB 181. This is the bill that will allow certain ATVs to become “Street Legal” and operated on public streets similar to motorcycles. (more…)
