Surveying the situation you contemplate different angles to approach getting you snowmobile back on top of the snow without killing yourself, your buddy, or wasting the next 2 hours. What do you do? Reach for the Snobunje.
Snobunje….almost a common name these days for avid snowmobilers. What have they done that’s so great for the snowmobiling industry? They’ve proived a way to save yourself. For any who don’t know Snobunje is known for their pulling tools called the Rattler and Cobra. These are products designed to help get a stuck sled out of the hole with the least amount of effort as possible. A question many may has is, “do they actually work?” or “are they worth the money?” Hopefully we can answer these questions.
The Snobunje Rattler came fighting for the spotlight at the beginning. A very simple tool, developed using a simple concept, that has produced spectacular results. A simple design of a hook, a bungee and a handle. Three items that are pretty common, when assembled by Snobunje become no common product. A product that provides a solution to a problem every true snowmobiler is faced with, how to get unstuck without killing your back or taking an hour. Concept was to use built up kinetic energy from a bungee to increase pulling capabilities. Easy enough, used is many different aspects of life. Put the tool and the concept together and you have the Snobunje Rattler.
Does it do it’s job? Question is almost too easy to answer. Yes it does, and it does it well. So well, I ask myself what did I do before? The same question that I ask about my cell phone. It truly is as easy as to attach to the ski, take a couple of steps back and lean. No more packing the snow to the side of the sled, having you and your buddy lift the back end over. Taking a 5 min break as you adjust your back and catch your breath. Then you get on your sled as your buddy gets to the front, packs down a small trail, then pulls as hard as he can on the ski, while you hit the throttle. Hoping you don’t hit him and that you don’t get stuck in the next two feet, which if deep enough is almost going to happen, then repeat. The Snobunje Rattler changes that process to maybe packing down the snow in front of the sled, just to help it out a bit, then attaching the hook to the ski, your buddy taking a few steps, stretching the Rattler to is max and as you hit the throttle he sits down and away. Out doing his normal pulling on the ski by at least 5 times, and giving you enough help to get your forward momentum going so you don’t get stuck again. No more packing the snow to the side, no more straining to pick the back end of the sled up, no more repeating the process two or three times. Just a quick pull and back to having fun on the snow.
Its like the sticky notes…who would have thought that applying some glue to a small piece of paper would make millions? Who would have thought putting a hook and handle on the end of a bungee could help millions?….Snobunje. Thanks to the great team at Snobunje we are able to enjoy the sport of backcountry snowmobiling that much more. The Rattler will allow you to continue to eat those Twinkies, not exercise, and still have the energy to help your buddy get out of what seems to be a bottomless hole.
