I used this system last year. The mounting system works great. The rails can also be used to strap or bungie a bag, shovel, or other items on days where you don't need extra fuel.

The jugs fit securely and don't move around.

WORD OF CAUTION - My Yamaha dealer mounted this system on a new Nytro MTX before the beginning of last season. I also added the OEM Yamaha exhaust turnout.

Even with the turnout the exhaust melted the jug on the right side of the sled!!! Luckily I stopped to check it during that first ride - if I would gone any further the plastic would have melted all the way through.

Not sure if this would have ignited the fuel or not, but the combination of molten plastic and gas couldn't be good news.

I moved the jugs over an inch to the left and the heat from the exhaust no longer compromises the fuel containers.

If you have a Nytro or newer Phazer you need to be aware of this and either mount the rails a few inches to the left or stick a bolt in one of the rail holes to prevent the cans from being in the line of fire (literally). Under no circumstances should you use this system if you have not installed the exhaust turnout.

I would be careful with dual exhaust Yamahas - the 162" Apex MTX may give you enough space to keep the heat off the jugs but the shorter track models probably don't allow enough room - the heat from the pipes may melt both cans at once.

Anyway - I really like this product and will be ordering a new set of jugs.

Be sure to keep that hot exhaust from causing a meltdown.

The largest can size they have that fits on the back of a sled is 1.3 gallons. You can get a rail that will either support 2 or 3 cans. They hold up really well. We have had them on the back of an M7 for two years now and we do a lot of extreme riding. No problems with them staying on, They really do a good job.

I'd like to purchase the Gas Rack System, but the site will not let me order. Please call or email me ASAP, so I can order and receive before my upcoming trip.
